Consumer Debt

“When you are feeling the most disheartened and pressured, remember, there are many effective methods to get the debt monkeys off your back.” This is the final sentence of my article Nine Bananas and Eighteen Monkeys, Oh, my! soon to be published in the “Family Voice” magazine.

The crushing burden of debt is virtually universal, a primary theme in our modern, civilized society. So, give yourself some mental slack; your debts do not define you as a person, at least not permanently. While unpleasant, overcoming debt simply represents a period of time that must be endured in an intelligent fashion. Think of it as a broken leg, painful and debilitating, but this too will pass.

Strange as it may seem, Federal law now allows you the opportunity to acquire a little peace. It’s called the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

Overwhelming debt diminishes nearly every positive characteristic your family’s life — both psychological and physical. And it is wrought with legal complications. This is not a time for half measures or putting your life in the hands of a partially trained, albeit amiable, debt counselor. Resolving debt and restoring your good name requires specific legal counsel and solutions.

Lawyers and paralegals at our firm have become expert in helping you to develop a plan specific to your needs and family and, more important, to help you to execute that plan.

Thank you.
